so, i had my phone interview with Schneider today.. they decided to tell me nope, not gonna take you.. So what ever.. i have a different thread in their section about that.. moving on. Now, im trying to figure out where else to go, and look into. I've gotten prehires allready out of Werner, Us Xpress, and Swift. Im also interested in going though Squire, to get to Knight. Now ive heard the ugly about all these companys, but less so on USX. I dont want to go OTR, Reigonal is what im looking for. Also, i know, sematics, but i dont want to be stuck driving a Volvo.. thats what one of the trucks at my school was (a well maintained one at that) and i did not enjoy driving that one.. the freightliner we had though.. oh that was nice. Does anyone have any helpful advice? Or perhapse even someone else to look into?
Not quite sure where to go to

I think Roehl trains newbies. They are either based out of Gary or they are based in Wisc. Not too far from you. May want to look into them too.

Big companies are never the answer period.

So you didn't like driving the Volvo huh? Let's see...Volvo has the better visability...more storage in the sleeper...better turning radius...generally more driver friendly.
I think maybe your priorities should be about making money, and being treated like a human being...which is hard to find with the bottom feeder companies you have mentioned.
Just saying.... -
The last place i was driving for had 2009 and 2010 Volvos...I thought they were nice driving trucks!
As a newbie i think you are going to have to drive what they give you and deal with it..You have to pay your dues man! -
I keep hearing this from newbies and I think there is a bad rumor going around about the details of regional driving. Regional driving is the same as over the road except you are in a designated area of the country. You are still out for the same amount of time. Those that promise "home on the weekends" usually means for a few hours on Sunday afternoon. Just thought I would clear that up because there is another newbie who plans to drive regional and she thinks that means home at night and on the weekends. You new guys/girls are listening to the bull#### that these school recruiters are telling you while they take your $5000.00! Keep in mind there is no difference between them and a car salesman. I think it's very crappy that they are lying to you folks like this!

With those phone interviews,
sometimes just the way you handle yourself makes a differrence !!! -
Always makes me chuckle when I see the posts from students or new drivers who say..."I only want to drive a {insert truck type here}" or "I don't want drive a {insert truck type here}", or my personal favorite "I don't want to drive a truck that is governed at {insert speed here}". Plus there is one of the all time greats "How do I cheat on my logs and not get caught".
Here is a thought, don't worry about the color, age, speed or brand of truck. Get a job, learn what you are doing. -
Glen Beck your beer buddy in utah,
or the talk show dude ?? -
Don't you love it? "I'm not driving a governed truck " ......
You'll drive what the carrier says you will or you won't work here...... after all, there's 10,000 just like you waiting outside my gate.
