Lol ,no ones shooting anybody .
This "GUY" is just stating what he's experienced with Lipe .
When a compony leaves the customer holding the bag it tends to leave a sour taste in there mouth.
Oh and it's always the customers fault never the product ,right??

    Haha... no, never!

He asked where the complaints were coming from. I told him TTR. Said he would come do some tech support. We'll see if he shows up.

I have ran lipe clutches in all my trucks pulling some pretty good weight around pa. and wv with high HP. rated at 3000ft lbs. never have had an issue with them. you really have to pay attention on their adjustment procedures. and yes linkage has a lot to do with them. guess I have been lucky or something!?

it is a multiple pc clutch. all pcs are individually balanced. you can adjust it without depressing the pedal.(one man job) what I mean by multiple is you have a ring that bolts on flywheel then the rest goes on in a certain order. the pressure plate springs angled different from an eaton for better clamping force. im not endorsing lipe I just haven't had problems like some have had. another style clutch I tried once was lipe disc with eaton pressure plate. that seamed to work well also.

Cottonmouth85, thanks for talking to the Lipe rep for me and getting his perspective.

I have to get the tranny dropped in a couple of weeks to get the bell housing leak fixed and I'm just going to pull the Lipe out and replace it with an Eaton. I'll be out the money I spent on the Lipe but at least I'll have a clutch that should be so touchy.

The shop that did my clutch has a few of their own trucks with them and all the drivers have the same complaints. The lead mechanic said he was talking with the rep at PDI about what they use with their high horsepower set ups and they used to use Lipe but quite because of all the complaints. PDI now has their own branded clutch but have only been using them for around 6months and I'm not going to be the test mule for that.

I do not like to bash products online, but let me save you some trouble and money.

We had three trucks with Lipe clutches in them, two behind c-16s, one in a c-15, none of them close to stock.
We run big weight and big power, Lipe brags they are the go to clutch people for our application, I beg to differ.

None of drivers, including me, liked how they felt. The one behind c-15 lasted a year and came apart. Next one behind a c-16 came apart so hard, it broke the bellhousing in half, destroyed the clutch linkage, and broke gears in the tranny, very expensive day. After that mess we did not wait around for the third one to die, pulled it out as soon as we could before it cost more money and downtime.

Now I cant speak for other people, but I know at least four other guys that had problems with Lipes as well.

I don't know a single person that has one and said he loved it....not one.

    Good luck.
