Well based on what you say, I would say your ok to go back to work,.... providing you worked 1 full year, during the past 3 years (you stated you have been off 2 years, so it will be tight depending on the time of the year you got out of the truck back in 2010) They will need to see all of your transportation employment history back to 2002, all employers etc. Most of the better companies will be very pcky on the road test, with guy that has been out of the truck a couple years, you will need to make sure you dont have any issues shifting or backing or you will have a ride along for a few weeks.......but it sound like this will not be an issue with your history.......now on the other hand, if you have not been pulling a 53' trailer in multi states and just doing local construction work, you may be stuck with a training company for a while. Start lighting up the phones!! I would check with Howard Baer here in town, I hear they are flexible if know how to control a rig foward and backwards with out tearing anything up.

thank you I will try that company but the truck I drove the year prior to factory work was a straight truck It was four years ago when I was driving t/t and it was local so they keep sayin that it doesnt count but it was right in the middle of nashville tn I cant see how that doesnt count heck I took a load to birmingham just last week but my friend let me take it just to refine my skills and his company has a hiring freeze or he said he could get me on there

Local stuff doesn't usually count with these bigger companies, it seems, but most mean this just to say you will be getting a greenhorns starting pay. However hear is where your experience will count if you can get on with a trainer carrier, if you get on the road & everything comes back to you quickly, it is highly possible to get in your own truck & out of training quicker......the pay kinda goes with their train of thought you are a rookie @ otr.

Find an outfit that will take you... do your homework and some leg work.

In my hometown there are 5 companies that would hire you.... find a smaller carrier.

There are over 500,000 trucking companies in the US... one of them will find a job for you.
