I would also add that you MUST ACCOUNT FOR ALL GAPS in employment. This means if you worked for pirates and outlaw trucking for five months then quit, those five months must be accounted for. Honesty is the best policy here. You can never tell what a carrier's HR department can dredge up. Why take a chance on losing a peach job or prospective job over this?

Truth be known, newer drivers don't have much choice but to comply, and it's a different world now.

Almost done with year number 22 out here...
Straight Stacks and 201 Thank this. -
Depends on the company. If it's a small local company that I know is just gonna run my background and verify what I put down I'll leave out the "attended orientation but it didn't work out" jobs and never had a problem.
Bigger companies are more thorough and thus they get my full job history. I really really like those apps that say only go back three years for non driving jobs and ten years for any position driving a commercial vehicle. I was quite the job hopper before I drove trucks and most would consider me one now. What can I say I don't handle lies about rate of pay, hours worked, jobs that disappear once you get to orientation and /or missing paychecks very well.

Different world is right. Computers.
Computers have made it harder to get jobs, harder to keep jobs, made life harder in general for job seekers. They never forget a thing and don't differentiate between truth and lies or good information and bad information or even mistakes or typos.
Once something gets in The System it's hard to get it out again.
There's no driver shortage, but there's a shortage of drivers who can through jump all the hoops, drug test, credit checks, criminal checks, hazmat fingerprinting checks, driving history checks, DMV records, previous employer checks, and who knows what else. Hair, urine and it just goes on from there. And it's all logged on databases, all across the country, in COMPUTERS, that never forget. -
Some employers check your tax records, if you received income from an employer, it shows whether w-4 or 1099 employee, there is a record of it.
Really if you were not fired with cause, I should not be an issue. I was at my last carried 3 months, as I told my current one, it wasn't a good fit. Before that I was 3 years and 9 years at the same employers. They didn't care about the 3 month gig. -

I had some job interviews this week and am surprised about how little this issue matters in the end. I think it's because I've had a near perfect resume up until this point.
