Every job you go to you're interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you. For the first few months, I consider any job to be in interview phase. They may not care for it. But if I leave, that's what I put down for reason of departure. Either that or employer was not a good fit for me.
It solves a lot of up front problems and puts the new company on notice from the get go that they are as much on probation as I am with them. No one gets missed or left off an application.

Three years ago I left an employer for this very reason. The owner was a caustic D with a capital D. I told him that it wasn't going to work our for us, and he got huffy as if I needed him more he did me.
He got even madder when I told him that I had decided to accept a different job offer from earlier in the day.

I have worked for the US Postal Service for 33 yearsas a maintenance technician. I earned my CDL -- A in 97. I have worked on the side for 8 different trucking companies; some big, but most small mom and pops. It has always been easy for me to just up and quit. My loyalty was with the postal service and they knew it. Some bosses are really pissed when someone just comes in and says I AM FINISHED. I actually worked 2 full time jobs from 98 to 2003. I was young then. Now that I am ready to retire, I am putting in applications for local work. I like to drive; not out of necessity. I have received offers. Not worried about what companies think of my sporadic driving history. They know I don't need them. I know they need me. My alternative would go team with my son and then buy a truck. Team family owner/op is where the big $$$ is at. I would recommend getting a CDL to any young person. Always have something to fall back on.

No, and further they keep no databases like this as far as I know. They just mandate a carrier get this information and make it part of that carrier's driver qualification file.
