This is a braided line with a hydraulic fitting on the governor, going across the top of the engine into this. It appears it has something to do with the cooling system, cuz those blue lines as far as I'm aware are water lines.
Any idea what this is?
This is on a 300 Cummins that is in the 85 Volvo white cabover that I've posted about before.
Thank you
Not sure what this airline is running to

Heater control valve? That may be the dumbest guess ever
-
I'm just wondering why it would need air
-
IDK, Freightliner used air to control bunk heater valves for years
-
The vents that are in the bank are controlled by the front. So the front vents have to be on in order for the bunk events to be on
-
Original engine? Fuel heater? Just throwing guesses out
-
It's the clutch fan sending unit. The braided line is the supply, when the temp gets high enough it opens and sends air through the plastic line to the fan. ( or shutters if it's that old) If I reacall correctly they are called a shutterstat.

I'm trying to figure out a better way than this cluster fart. The braided air line is on top. It keeps working it's way out from the governor. Costs me an hour plus every time to fix it.
I've used the thread tape and lock titeAttached Files:
