hahAha. Just get out and walk around get some fresh air. You'll feel better.
Luckily my company will never try that with me. They are really strict about safety. One message and they wouldn't even question why
Glad your getting some rest. Get well soon
Not sure what to do... tired/sick told to run anyway

Ok..am I correct here...
I can take an 8 hr break to pick up some hours.. but after load delivered or whatever... I then need to take full 10 hr break? I did 2 hr hr + 10 hr breaks in o e week... totally killed my paycheck, so no more. -
The "split sleeper" rules are hard for anyone to understand (almost like the Government set it that way), and should be completely avoided. The way it is set up now benefits NOBODY...not even Teams any more.
I am surprised that any company out there would ask any driver to operate under split sleeper conditions. It is too easy to screw up, and the violation goes on everyone's record that is associated with that truck.
Ban the "Split Sleeper" use from your life! Refuse to run under it. Tell your company you are confused about how that particular law is run, and you don't want to blemish your record or theirs. Freight can be moved just fine under regular logbook operations.TruckerGonnaBe Thanks this. -
Thank you everyone. I'll start doing that when I pre plan my trips. I've been doing a lot of just grab amd run hoping for the best because they force dispatch a lot.
Since I'm new I'm still afraid that they will fire me for not taking a load. I really like getting my. 40 -.47 cpm atm. This check is going to stink because I had my 3 days off and now this plus that "34 hour restart" that goes unpaid but my last check was net $1750. for 2 weeks.
Oh well I'm not going to risk going to jail so will not do that again.
I can work on things while I'm laid up. I'm out until Sunday. I let this go on to long and now have an acute upper respiratory infection and an inner ear infection. I'm on antibiotics and mucinex d (sp?).
I really don't like the 8/2 splits. I'm always tired after running them. I'm just going to have to learn how to stand up for myself better. I fought with them when I was being disrespected by the dispatchers (actually was spoken to like I was a toddler) but haven't stood up for myself over the loads. Guess I need to learn and the sooner the better.icsheeple Thanks this. -
Always put your health and safety above any load or dispatcher.
dog-c, tsavory, TruckerGonnaBe and 1 other person Thank this. -
For future reference.....Like others have said, when dealing with important issues, ALWAYS use the QC to CYA...But even moreso...Make sure when it comes to them over-pressuring you, or trying to nudge you to push the boundaries legally, make ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that you use the magic words- "I'm sorry, but I can't do what you are asking safely and/or legally and I am not willing to risk my or anyone else's lives by doing so...."
Once you let them know that you cannot do it safely and are worried about "life and limb", safety will have your back, period.
If they won't/don't, then don't walk..... RUN- as far and as fast from this outfit as you possibly can!!!!!!"semi" retired and Vilhiem Thank this. -

Its speculation, and the last time I heard the government say anything it started with, "We'refrom the government. We are here to scre...ow! Help!" Funny, his partner elbowed him before he finished...wonder what he was going to say originally? -
Most companies actually discourage the 8/2 sleeper split as they knowledge drivers don't understand it and will violate. Heck most of them don't understand it either. Personally I have a pretty good understanding of it and use it occasionally but that's really only because I have elogs and it's computes it automatically
tsavory Thanks this.
