    Actually be diplomatic.

Have stevens PAUSE the travel arrangements with tickets in hand. Tickets can be provided a travel date later. I once hold a set of greybug tickets with a travel date that was open into the future once buses quit sliding sideways in hotlanta ice storm.

It's funny back then in the east coast. Atlanta buses sliding on the night news means you stayed home that week too.

That's what I'm thinking Stevens seems real desperate for drivers. I will say the recruiter I have there is a real cool dude easy to talk to and listens to questions. Answers the phone every time I called twice within half a ring. Roehl guy is like trying to get ahold of the president.

I got the weekend to mull it over.

I've been trucking in Wisconsin since the late 70's. I've seen Roehl almost from the beginning. What issues with their tractors?

Back in July after my husband got his cdl, he made the mistake of talking to one of Stevens' recruiters. They, no lie, called him every day for weeks trying to get him to commit. He kept blocking the number then a new number would call.

Ok, The way I understood it was back in the day the new computers were beginning to govern the engines and apparently they wanted double nickel limit on the speed which caused some trouble with the shifting in the top two gears. Not enough to stay in top and too much RPM in the next one down.

The computer age began in the 90's starting with governors casterating trucks. I did not see them until roughly after 1995. We had unlimited trucks until then.

In all honesty, I would look at the size of the company. If it was a choice of the 2 I would go with Roehl over Stevens.

Where do you live and where would you need to go for Orientation for each company ??

Yeah, I'm thinking before then. I think they ran red and white IH cabovers. I do remember blowing their doors off with an R model Mack and I didn't pass much with that Mack.

    I remember the same thing.

R models were great in my time. The new CL's I think were a improvement for what I had to do with one. And the Ch sleeper version too. But they were runts compared to the bigger trucks I would run later on...
