I'm just trying to get some information to make a decision. There are three companies that are in question. Swift, Western, and Celadon.
A friend and I are looking at teaming. I already have my CDL but have been off the road for several years. I know I need some retraining and that's fine. My friend is starting the journey for his CDL, so he will need CDL school as well.
I have done a fair amount of research and I believe celedon would be the best fit. I just looking for some insite with people that may have been driving for these companies or still do. Any information would be helpful.
Not sure which comapny would be a good idea.

Just found out about this company :
Carolina Logistics Inc.
CDL training is $1300.00
Team operation running coast to coast & Canada. Terminals on both coasts.
That's all I know about it; call and get more info. -
I started in Swift with their school and continued to work for them the first few months before moving on. As far as the school goes it is there just to get your CDL and that is it. You will learn everything from a mentor. I do like that you are not held to a contract for a specific length of time with swift. If you leave then you have to pay for the class on your own. Might be something to look into. I do know there are some companies that will want you to sign a year contract to go to their school.
As far as driving for them I was always kept reasonably busy and drove the mid west and east. I live in Oregon so I was only getting home every 6 - 8 weeks. I averaged 2400 - 2500 miles a week and had a dick for a DM. The only reason I left was I had an opportunity to drive western regional and be home more often. Hope this helps.123456 Thanks this. -
