I feel the same way. We all have to start somewhere. It's always better if a person can start out with a descent company.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Chinatown suggested I go with TMC when I started driving. I stayed there and got the experience I needed and moved on to a better company.

Hey bit late on the reply here. I live in the NW near Portland, OR. So I have been looking at May Trucking since that is the closest company to where I am at. Any advice would be appreciated though. I like the idea of Schneider's training in Fontana. Said they would put me up for the 3 weeks and for 1 week I go OTR and then after all that and the skills test then I'd get my own truck. I have heard May operate some automatics and are getting more. Rather drive an automatic but definitely want more training with a 10-speed.
Another reason I thought about Schneider was for their tanker division but they don't operate tankers in the NW/SoCal. May Trucking training is for I think 10-15 days OTR. Seems like a long time.
