I want to thank everyone here, I did end up finding a job. It’s local end dump company. It’s not the greatest company, but I’m getting good experience. They don’t care to maintain their equipment specifically. I’m looking at other companies but being super selective, using this opportunity to learn the questions I should ask. Does anyone have any experience with chief carriers?

If they don't maintain their equipment, why would you want to work for them? Just curious.

No experience, but I see their flatbed running around quite a bit and they look pretty sharp. What issues are you seeing, DOT reportable or just normal wear and tear?

They’re safe to drive, just old and break down a lot. If I mention I need something fixed for safety reasons, they don’t hesitate. The trucks just all have 1,000,000 miles or more

Nothing that would be dot reportable. But I am very new. But nothing that makes me feel unsafe. I just don’t want to be labeled a “job hopper”
