NOT using a clutch when shifting gears on a manual trans?

    CDL tests are different in every state. In WA you had better double down on every throw during the test. After that learn to feel your way around the country. When you drive a while you won't even realize the few times you use the clutch to assist. It becomes as natural as breathing, it just happens and your mind is on the traffic and your path.

    SC road test double if not every gear you don't double is 1 point...After you get CDL learn to float and do which every you like best.

    Can you show me that? They DO have a video on how to float shift..... what I'm saying is they DON'T tell you NOT to float shift...

    I just started floating after being on my own for about 6 months...definately smoother yet I still have to double clutch in certain situations. I figured out real quick when the clutch pretty much got destroyed and they had me drive 800 miles to a particular terminal...it wasnt a flat run either.

    Isn't double clutching required by law to teach that in schools?
