I've seen it. It's basically another video of office guys trying to tell us how to drive. This from the same people who can't design windshield wipers or cruise control that works like they're supposed to.

Some states put a restriction on your CDL if you do not test with a manual. But as far as I know it is not required anywhere to be taught how to shift with a clutch....some states like MN here are very lenient on testing and have zero requirement on the type of transmission you use when you get your class A. Heck there are a few place around here that rent out pickup trucks with air brakes installed, hooked up to a 15' bobcat trailer for testing.

floating gears is easier and i think withn years you will start having hip issues lol, all you need is a few days to learn the sound of your engine get to know the rpms after that the gears literary get sucked in to place by them self

Either way is ok as long as it's done properly. I know drivers who can float that are totally lost if you ask them to double clutch. I will say one thing for double clutching...the self adjusting clutches of today need to be used some so that they can "self adjust"

If you are getting any surge or lurching you are not shifting right...double clutch or not.

If I had to sit across from someone double clutching all day, I would say, stop over here and go in and get me a cup of coffee. Right when he walks in the store, he looks over his shoulder and see`s his truck leaving.:biggrin_2559:

If eaton is saying to always double clutch , they are not following what they say . In the ultra shift the computer is floating the gears .
