Do anyone know of any company that lets you not work on Sundays (for religious reasons)?

They asign you a load...you get it there best you see fit...

OTR Truckers don't really 'work' in the sense of punching in a time clock...as a driver, you manage your time as you sit fit...as long as you make delivery appt...

And if your at home...Sundays often the time when dispatch comes in...they may asign you a 400 mile trip that has to be there Monday morning at 9:00 am....

400 miles...7-8 hours...depending on personal driving habits, stops, ect ect...

So basically you manage your time as you see fit...but many drivers will leave out Sunday evening...to break the trip up...

    It's your choice...

Trucking is a 24/7 operation. How can a company guarantee you sundays off?

I don't know about not working on Sundays. Once you leave your house you are on duty until you get back home. Most of the time you are on call too while at the house. There are a lot of truckstops however that have churches and services. My uncle is a very religious man and found that while driving he also had plenty of time to devote to worship whether it be on the radio or books on cd. He would preach from time to time at a lot of the truckstop churches. They also broadcast over the cb.

I would rather hear preaching than all of the foul political, racial and sexual BS. That's why my Cb stays off except when rolling down the raod and even then gets turned way down at every major truck stop.

Bible Thumper? Heard of that saying. My wife seen this guy, on the bus everyday, Carried a Bible, and a Crack Pipe. He says one day he will make a choice. Well the day came. He chose the Bible, and now works at a missions place. Talks to kids with the Drug problems.

Work for a local company. No Weekends. When you get hired, let them know ahead of time. See what they say.

Ummm....sort of but not really....It's complicated.

Regarding not working on Sundays....good luck on that one, friend. I have yet to see any trucking outfit be able to shut its trucks down on a particular day for religious or other reasons.

But God understands you have to put food on the table. The best church there is, in my humble opinion, is God's Great Earth. And what better way to Praise Him than to see what He created for you and thank Him for it each and every day...So I would say make every day your Sabbath and look beyond your dashboard to see the true face of God. You don't need some other lowly mortal preaching in your face, telling you right from wrong and leading you down his lowly mortal path to find Grace. If it is the Christian word you seek, take it with you in the form of your Bible. Read it for yourself and grow your own understanding of it.

Now, I'm not saying I'm Christian or anything else "mainstream"...because I'm not. But I am every bit as religious as anyone and even more so in most cases. Hence, the name of my own LLC: Taiowa Transportation. Taiowa is the Navajo word for the Creator.

    Good luck to you, friend.
