I did a writen notice and had a witness sign it . This is the whole reason i never have gave a notice before. Bet you sweet ars i won't ever give another.

As an employer, you don't want to risk the he said/she said and just pay them out. Some might but a larger company that has experience and knowledge of these matters just try to keep it by the book. That's my experiences anyways.
Small guys don't seem to have to follow the labour code. But it will only happen once and then they are screwed. -

I'd still give notice. Just because one company doesn't want to handle themselves professionally doesn't mean I would lower my standards of professional behavior. You don't need to bring yourself down to their level.trucker_101, MadMac and Bucktrucker Thank this. -
Last job I left (not trucking) I gave 30 days notice and helped them find my replacement.
Were I to leave my trucking job I would have another job already lined up. Tell them I had to work a 2 week notice, then notify my company. If they fire me right away a quick call to the new job probably gets me started right away.Bucktrucker Thanks this. -

ran into driver retainer at truck show he asked if I was ever going back to work.I said if they pay the 472.00 dollar oregon permit ticket that was really their ticket since they was responisble for permits.He said if we pay the ticket you will come back to work and I said yes Im not working anywhere.after ticket was paid I told them Im sorry I sold my truck.that was my notice
