    I dont remember how Maryland is(if you have to request stops on your permit for fuel/food or whatever). But routing is pretty specific for leaving Dundalk. I hadn't watched the video to see what happened.

    Ive never been that heavy leaving Dundalk going North on 83. Leaving Dundalk is part of the state permit now, it used to be you had to get a Baltimore City permit and Baltimore City would route you. Probably hundreds of high/wide/heavy loads leave and enter Dundalk daily so im sure there is a predetermined route from the state given per your dimensions. Whether they take you to the TA to scale is another thing.

    On the other hand I think Maryland is a per ton state..someone correct me if im wrong.... so you pay so much per mile per ton. You dont want to go too much over or youll overpay for permits. But, that will also keep you out of situations like this. Whether or not the machine was heavier than what he was told, he never evaluated on. He just gave examples when that does or had happened to him before. He doesn't say that was the case on this machine....

    I'm not sure how all the regs work, it's above my pay grade. For the most part out of Dundalk I'm routed right past the TA. I will say follow the route they give because they have cameras and watch them.

    I know the only time I’ve loaded at Dundalk I was not routed by the TA, I went out on Kane street and took a highly illegal route to get there. For those who haven’t been there before, at the exit you come to a stop light my permit wanted me to go straight across on dunhill road to Dundalk road. Here’s what you’re looking at as you set at that light. A clear as day no trucks at all times sign on Dunhill rd. 5859C07A-CC41-4086-A795-642CD741ABBC.jpeg well I had traffic backing up behind me so I made a split second call to go right instead of straight. Bad choice, that more or less leads into another no truck street that is on the edge of a neighborhood. Luckily I’m very well versed at making highly illegal turns since I pull a stretch trailer a lot, though usually I have escorts and a valid reason to be there.

    After talking to another driver he said they send everyone out that way, even 19 axles. So why the #### is that sign there? I’m going to say revenue generation.

    Yeah that’s the way out. Just wait until you’re big and you meet another big load coming in. It’s a tight squeeze.

    Coming out of Dundalk Marine Terminal you need Baltimore county too.

    I got popped once leaving there and going north into the city. Apparently there’s about 2000’ between there and the city line.

    The people of Dumbdock went to great pains to keep the Broening Hwy truck traffic out of their neighborhoods as you can see.

    That means these are your choices. North on Broening Hwy to Keith Ave to 95 north or south, or south on Broening Hwy and over the Key Bridge going west.

    If you are heavy you can’t go north. It has a legal weight bridge. You have to go across to Dundalk ave then north to holibaird. Then broening to O’Donnell street cutoff.
