As far as I know from Manitoba West the old 244" max wheelbase law is still in effect. You can permit longer with legal loads but can not permit any sort of osow...
I can guarantee his truck is +244".
Razororange, Oxbow and cke Thank this. -
Nah they've lightened up a bit on that. I've gotten a Manitoba permit with my big trailer and my tractor at 264". Guy we bought it from runs a 13 axle w 255" tractor up into AB often.
BC is the only one I don't know about. I've had the AB and BC tractor WB permits in the past and they always reduced the max trailer wheelbase as the tractor got longer. -
It never did make any sense. They run B trains everywhere, pull twin 53'rs across the prairies. But limit tractors to 244" Lol.
Especially since most setback 244 have enough nose hanging off the front they are the same overall length as a 260" set forward to begin with...Blue jeans, stwik, kylefitzy and 3 others Thank this. -
I just did a quick look over of the BC regs:

Seems like a twin steer tri Drive is the way to go........with enough neck and 5th wheel track yo get the weight up on it.
But what do I know.....Oxbow Thanks this. -
Looks like a tandem tractor is still 6.2 meters or 244".
-
Twin steer isn't all that common. Usually only see them as mixers, bed trucks or stinger cranes.

If he can manage to shim and make it legal.

I have been watching his videos for years.cke Thanks this.
