Why wouldn't he be able to make it legal? How much weight would he have to have on the deck to run into distribution problems?

    cke Thanks this.

Not much but the very nature of that setup dictates it will have a fair amount of weight on it. With a trailer like that you just don’t throw the machine on there and it’s legal.

Is that because its going to be a 2+2+2 or the fact that he'd have to be screwing around with the shims?

    cke and Oxbow Thank this.

It’s the shimming, shimming is harder than you think.

It looks complicated.. I seen a guy in upstate NY with about 2 inches worth of shims in between his trailer and his booster

    cke and Oxbow Thank this.

So would a fixed axle trailer be easier to deal with?

    cke Thanks this.

He could splurge for a nitro booster but obviously it will weigh a bit more and have more upkeep.

I suppose pulling the same trailer all the time. Shimming it won't be a big deal once he gets used to it. We all suck at things when we first start.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

A nitro booster won’t compensate for the bogies ahead of the stinger. You still have to level them.
