    lol

I've had the gross misfortune to meet one or two like that.

Makes a guy realize that there should be IQ standards for many many things in life.
Driving a truck would be one, breeding is another.

I remember a while back i met a werner driver in one of the suburbs of chicago. We were both picking up a load of beer and he mentioned scaling it. I mentioned that sometimes you're better off going out of route to scale a load instead of going through a weigh station without scaling...

so he looks in his company fuel book, and says, Oh, I'll go this one at exit 6 (gary ta), its a TRAVEL CENTER! They'll probably have a scale since its a TRAVEL CENTER!

i tried to explain the issue with this to him..he didnt get it. And yes, thats a fine place to scale...problem is thats a fuel book...

Which brings to mind another Werner anecdote. (others can be seen in the "worst of the worst" thread)

I was still in training, driving a W-900 through Chicago in one of their infamous construction zones posted 45 mph during the beginning of the evening rush. I saw a pickup coming up the on ramp and knew he couldn't see me. I scooched over to the left as far as I could and still remain in my narrow lane because I knew he was going to jump onto the freeway without looking. There was nowhere else for him to go had I not moved a little and slowed a bit because of the Jersey wall on the fog line. Here comes Werner, blasting through the construction zone in the left lane...and took out the driver side mirrors on the door. Vaporized them.

Regarding this being a Swift thread: It was a thread to discuss Swift motorcycles...and became an opportunity to flame Swift in general. That's why I brought up the points about those Professional Independents.

    Cheers!

Yikes!!! I don't think I wanna go "a hundred and a half" on a Chinese motorcycle... kind of like skydiving with an old moldy parachute purchased down at the thrift shop, takes a braver soul than I am to deal with that whole scene. :biggrin_2559:

I dont think they go that fast. But I agree. I thought about getting one initially when i saw the pricing, and i guess werner has a deal going where they'll finance anyone....but then i started thinking about what i think about china. How they're stealing our jobs, screwing up the market on products, making #### that sucks....and i bought a used japanese bike for 2 grand instead. I'm not sure I should be trusting my life to my suzuki either given some of the things the previous owners did to it...!!!

Edit: Looking at werner cycle works' website, they dont just sell the Hyosung chinese bikes. They apparently sell all sorts of bikes including dirtbikes, harleys, and several brands of custom choppers. Maybe they were just advertising the Hyosungs at the terminal because they know thats all werner drivers can afford..?

I'm thinkin' that the most appropriate name for a Swift
    motorcycle would be NotToo (Swift).

I heard a rumor that Swift is planning to reintroduce the Yugo
automobile in an effort to improve our southbound economy by
creating thousands of jobs for mechanics to keep 'em running
at peak performance. Being an equal opportunity employer, those
rejected by Swift are encouraged to apply for the mechanic's
position. No experience required, --- other than completion of an
intensive one-day, hands on training course at their state-of-art
facility located in Meh-He-Ko with instructors supplied by one, or
more, of the many cartels located in various border towns. The
training is free of charge in exchange for one year of delivering
packages to specified locations within North America. And, as an
added bonus, each graduate will have their choice of an Uzi or
AK-47. Top of the class graduates need not be concerned with
choosing one or the other as they will receive both.

Benefits include a medical plan with over 100 make-shift roaming
facilities to choose from, and a limited-lifetime insurance policy
after one year if all packages are delivered in a timely manner.
After one year, a profit sharing incentive is available to those
who don't sample the contents of the packages. Those who can't resist sampling will share a common, unmarked grave with others
at no cost to the recently deceased individual.
    What a deal!

Are you serious? Do you really think China is stealing our jobs? The U.S. Government forced U.S. companies to take their jobs overseas so they can be profitable. In the world of business it's all about making a profit and if a company can' t do it here they will take it somewhere else where they can.

You're right for the most part. But I was talking about a chinese motorcycle company, which as far as i know is 100% chinese, and is a lot different than a US company sending our jobs overseas. However, I don't support it one bit, because well... You know...

And back to your comment, I love how the US government is the prime reason the economy tanked. Now they try to act like the good guy and fix it. But anyone that understands the simple principle of money that isn't backed by anything at all, can see they're just screwing it up more. And there's no way they can't see that they're screwing it up as much as they're helping, if not more.

Oh, this company mismanaged money, lets help them! By printing more!

    That kinda thing.

And I love how they bailed the credit card company/ies out. as IF they needed it...
