I just got off the phone with a recruiter for Schnider, And i've gone ahead and applied for a driver position with them, as a reigonal (chicago based) Tanker Driver. What i've allready found out from them about the position is, %30 haz-mat, so i need to get that endorsment still, Ill need a TWIC card, not too big of a deal, and they run up to canada every so often, so ill need to apply for a passport to go along with that run too, troublesome.. but not a problem. I'll be operating within 500 mile radius of chicago, not bad. Starting out its 30 cpm, going up to 33cpm after 6 months. There are all the accessorial pays too, so good deal, i hope. Get 6 garanteed days off per month, that i get to schedual, so being newly wed, 4 months now, Thats something im happy to know about.
Now on Friday, im supposed to be getting a call back from the recruiter, in order to conduct a phone interview, Can anyone help me think of any good questions i should be asking when the time comes, to make sure im not left out in the dark, or miss something that could be very important to know?
Now, my next step!

ask them if you need a TWIC card as well. driving tanker, you may very well be going to "tank farms" or railroad yards to pick up chemicals.
as for the "color" of the truck...?? greens a good color, but i'd ask for a yellow with purple polka dots......
