Mechanic says I have 2 active fault codes for NOX sensor. He says I’d be able to drive and not experience derate. DD15 engine 2013 Cascadia. I know I need to get it fixed but I’ve been down 2days now need to get home. Any advice? Do any of you think I’ll be ok for time being?

If you can make it home with out a parked regen being necessary, should be good. I drove mine for a couple weeks with a check engine code for nox sensors
Sfrappier Thanks this. -
Will the truck do a parked regen? If not then you will need to look at replacing the NOx sensors. If memory serves me, it should have NOx sensors that retract during a regen. If they will not retract it will not do a regen. Not a cheap fix, but an easy one, replacing the sensors.
If you have a Detroit shop near by, they should have the parts. It is a somewhat common problem. A dealer will most likely have them as well. Better luck at a Detroit shop getting in and changed. -
Usually they wont do a proper regen with CEL on, otherwise you should be fine. My truck CEL has come on intermediatly and the our shop just deleted the code for a while till they got around to changing the sensor.
