Better than taking it to the shop. Now you’ve got the tool, saved money, and even more in the future. Beats waiting 3 days or longer to even get into a Dealership. I figure, I can screw things up just as good as anyone. Lol. Good Job.
Use m20 taper for the thread... Next time use 6 pont socket and impact gun. If its not turning heat the bottom part and put water on it..
This is the exact same box on my freightliner. The circle is the sensor and the blue rectangle is the frame. No impact, no drill, nothing could get on that sensor without dropping the box. Used a 6pt socket and thats what stripped out the sensor. Heated up with torch, pb blaster, everything. It was just solid stuck in there.
Air hammer and a wrench that you don't care too much for. Flat hammer bit in air hammer. Make a impact.
Like ive mentioned numerous times already, i did all of those things. And that aint no impact lol if my breaker bar wouldnt break it lose, that milwaukee wrench definitely wont.
The next time this happens just grab a pip pipe wrench and put the jaws around the nut and take a hammer and tap the jaws of the pipe wrench up against the nut. Then you want to tighten it just a little bit then back it off. Spray so lubricate around the treads and repeat the same thing again back and forth until you break the old crud inside the thread. Spray the lubricant again and unscrew it half way and tighten it back again. Unscrew it a third time back and forth and take it all the way out. That way you want have to rethread the hole the nut come out of. We do them at ups all the time. Sometimes you might have to put a cheetah bar on the handle of the pipe wrench to get it started. Hope this helps and God Bless everybody. Stay safe
I did my 2014 sensors and yes they were difficult and I almost gave up . That bolt extractor is nice.
