Hi guys,
I’m stuck at the Freightliner dealership as my truck went into derate due to faulty Nox sensors. These guys are charging me 10 hours of labor for nox sensors replacement and regen… Is this normal?? Other forums mention that it takes 1.5-2 hrs to replace them and up to 1hrs for regen
Nox sensors replacement + regen - 10 hours of labor??

Need to know what engine and what the codes were.

How much of the 10 hrs is for diag? Ask for a breakdown of the time.

You are getting ripoff. Took me like 30 mins to replace my outlet Nox Sensor and that is including watching the Step by step tutorial on Youtube. The Inlet doesn't look look like to much work either. I say 3h max including regen.
cascadia4life Thanks this. -

cascadia4life and AModelCat Thank this.

If the sensor broke off that'll be where the time went. Flat rate and book times are a very general guide and go out the window in less than ideal scenarios.

Diagnostic fee, 2 hours, nox sensors replacement 1.4hours, regen 1 hour. When nox sensors go out there’s usually a circuit or inefficiency codes. They’re not that difficult to diagnose. A lot of dealers these days like to charge 2 hours for “laptop hookup to read the codes” then they start with their tests. Sounds like these scum bags are taking advantage of you

Yeah.... 10 hours for nox sensors. .. Poor guy. Feels like a ripoff. But still not cheap. Nox sensor plus Regen.... That's like 2500$ USD?
