Guess you missed the NTSB recommendation. They want them removed from all vehicles.

ECU51 did a study. Every truck driver was talking on a cell phone. He didn't report a single accident! :biggrin_2559:

No I have a bluetooth,,have had one for years(only safe way to go),,of coarse i have seen dudes hold cell phones to their domes and kick the door open and back up so i guess anything is possible,,

and they do have check points ,,all over the place,,:Police car:

I missed nothing. Just to hard to enforce. Much simpler to include in the operating programing a movement sensor that disables operation.

Yes yes I know every one thinks the world will end if they are out of communication. No it won't. And stoppiing to use the latrine, eat, and stretch you legs will provide ample opportunity to "keep in touch".

No just stating an observation, now did i say they were reckless?dangerous?,,No just a simple observation, but as i crossed over into Ga on 95 SB i did watch the local LEO pull over 2 CARS for cell phones, cause they sure wernt speeding,as I was passing them(65 mph truck):biggrin_25525:

Well lets see, they were doing less than 65,I was passing them in center lane, they in the #3 lane,we went right by not 1 but 2 LEO's ,both of them had their cells to their domes,,LEO's motioned them to pull over(they were outside of their car)hence the chase and the and pull over,,we had just passed a rather big sign indicating NO HAND HELD CELL PHONES IN GA,,

But hey i could be wrong:biggrin_25525: IDK what do you think???

should I have pulled over to and asked???(for the sake of this forum) or maybe Im safe to assume with facts not in evidence,,oh what the hell we will go with they just got pulled over,i dont want to argue

The technology exists now. All it takes is a mandate ordering it to be applied to all new cellular communication devices and a change to the signal range of cells so older models cease working.

I remember an article I'll have to find with a few of the safer road orgs meeting with the FCC and it being discussed as a viable alternative.

Must be a new law. They do not show the law on the web for Georgia. Only a texting law.

They do the motioning for seat belts not used as well and for airplane on speed traps as well.
