I have a new job driving for an O/O. He put me in a '14 International Prostar 13-speed. Much nicer truck than the Cascadia automatic i was in with the previous employer. But the dashboard has two rows of buttons with nothing but numbers on them. First row 1-5, second row 6-0. No clue what these are for or how to use them. Nothing in the driver's manual about them. Can't find anything on YouTube about them either. Thanks.

There is a thread on here this week saying its a security system. If the truck shuts down you have to enter the code to start it up. Its probably in the international trucks section.

    Wayward Son Thanks this.

I believe those are for entering the security code. When you release the brakes, you have 30 seconds to enter the code, or the motor shuts down. Hope they told you the code,,

    Didnt ask him.
It is better to keep your mouth shut and APPEAR stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt.

Um,,no, just ask. You'll look a lot more stupider if that thing shuts down in traffic somewhere. There are no stupid questions.

If your boss has been around trucking for any length of time, he's used to questions. In fact, he probably welcomes them.
    When in doubt, ask.
Or as a boss told me one time "I'd rather answer your questions than fix your mistakes. Lots cheaper that way."
It would drive me nuts having something in the truck that I didn't know the purpose of.

    kylefitzy Thanks this.

If it is disabled, I wonder what else has been cobbled? O/O, right?;)
( whispering,,,the truck probably sends a signal to the scalehouse, this truck is stolen)
Security code, bah, starting a cold Cummins was your security years ago.
