I was kidding, but remember reading something about scales for the driver
-
They were on my list when I was looking a few years ago.
But also told me I'm out of their Hiring Area.
I live 60-70ml south of KCMO.Metalshadow Thanks this. -
Shame trucks are slow and freightliners but otherwise a good company.
Canned Spam Thanks this. -
After CRE, everything looks great - talking from experience. You have a medium job - there is better. Still, a medium job in trucking is a pretty good job; I think this is a good industry to work in.
Joliet? I can get you on at $1200/week guaranteed for about 45 hrs/week and about 2000 miles. That is about 60 cpm or $26/hr. PM me - I'll take the $500 referral bonus without a milligram of shame.Oldironfan, White_Knuckle_Newbie and icsheeple Thank this. -
The company has always had a good reputation for as long as I've been in the industry.
I too had inquired about driving for them in the past, and they were honest enough to tell me based on 'Domicile' they DO occasionally get loads to my area---but pretty much want drivers in Iowa to live near I-80 to get them home regularly. They left it up to me, with the understanding that "home time" would be a 'given', but not regular. So I passed. I appreciate their honesty.
As far as the fairings on the trailers extending past the tires? I think that is ridiculous. I like to see my tires in the mirrors. And don't get me started on those stupid "Trailer Tail's".Oldironfan Thanks this. -
I always thought their full trailer skirts looked sleek and modern. I could see them becoming a nuisance though, doing pre trips and sliding tandems and such. I did see a flatbed sitting in the yard there on 39 yesterday that had full skirts as well, that was kinda weird.

Did you install that or did the company...I am going to do that same unit in my cascadia did you get an adapter or wiring diagram?
-
I installed it myself. The wiring adapter is from a mid 90's VW, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes. Best Buy had it in stock. Sorry, but I don't have the item number handy. It was pretty easy to install. Just had to remove the brake knobs and take all of the dash pieces loose (all T-25 Torx.)

OK thx I put one in another freightliner but I had a wiring diagram for the plug, took a lot if time, wanted to make it easier this time, going with an Alpine head unit, and replacing stock speakers with jbl audio
