Well, Form my topic I am sure I will be prejudged by many on here. I've been reading for a few days on the fourm. Some things I have noted.

    1) Most don't want to see new drivers. The think they know it all, may not listen, ####y or are just palin stupid. Plus it also seems that many think they are invading their field of work amd making driving big rigs unsafe. I understand that point. Not Judging.

    2) I get the feeling that trucking used to be fun in the old days. Most drivers are not happy with whom they work for now,Thus making it hard for a newbie to cut through al the post to make an informed decision on what company to work for OR if Even trucking is cut out for them.

3)You WILL be gone from home for LONG priods of time. If this is not ok...Think Again about your choice!

    4) Recruiters And Companys...Should I say Over State What you will REALLY be able to Make and ALSO Home Time.

    5) Tight quaters with a team and or trainer may be a Lot Of Strss. You may not smoke and they do....You may like country music and they don't or the Other way around. (Most Likely on that one..lol)

    6) Like it or not you may eat on the run OR Truckstop food which is not that Great Along with. No Showers, other driver may be a little Gamey And Not Much sleep. The sleep you do get may not be vary Good.

&) Driving the Northeast is Nasty...New York even Worse.

Add in others you may like to throw in.

This is NOT an Attack Post!!! Do Not take it as such!

If that's what you've learned, that's what you've learned. I've been on here for two years, still consider myself a newbie, and have never been offended by any of the so called prejudice. Most on here are more than willing to offer help and encouragement and don't want to see you get burned. Are there some that post as you've described? Of course, but you quickly learn who they are, and if they never post anything of value, I never bother reading them.

The rest of your points have some truth to them. If you're not willing to accept it, then you'll have a hard time being happy out there.

Nevertheless, welcome to the board, and I hope you find it as useful as so many others have, including myself.

It is interesting to me that I can almost tell the number of years someone has been trucking by the tone of their posts on here. not good or bad but I can almost always tell.

I am a week away from driving for my first company (actually 5 days, but who is counting). Anyways, I have found very informative and helpful members on this forum. I have never been offended by anything another poster has said to me, about my experience, or my decision to join this profession. I am excited to learn and have a good attitude towards people and situations. I have even exchanged emails outside of this forum with other drivers. I am not sure, but your post seemed to have a negative tone towards experienced drivers or posters on this board, and I for one feel exactly the opposite. Almost every decision I have made, from schooling, to company selection, has had input from this board which help me make my decision.

I was not trying to come accross negative. As I said,I will be prejudged...Not that I was Judge you or anyone on here. I thought or tried to make taht clear in my post. I have not been offended by what I have read, It was a staement of Most or should I say Many on here.

I did not say I was a driver or how many years I was doing or if I wanted to be a truck driver.

I have learned a lot of info on here. Some VERY Helpfull.

Guess I strted out on the wrong foot.
