Not a problem. A GPS will take you anywhere. Just ask these individuals.

The city can be confusing if you haven’t spent much time there
The first thing to keep in mind is if the route you were on is a marked truck route you’re 85% good to go where you see the bridge on Linden Boulevard marked low you’ll notice there’s two sets of underpasses in each direction on many of those bridges And the far outside lanes. If you can open the picture up you’ll notice that there’s angled bridge supports that’s what the clearance is marked because they appear in the far outside lane and you’re 13 six you’ll hit the corner of the bridge. The rest debate is OK. The same goes for any of the elevated subways. You need to be as far away to the outside of that elevated rail line again they’re very old and all the iron has some type of support structure on the inside. That’s either curved or angled and that’s what they’re marking it for but as long as you’re not up against it, you’re fine just be careful. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and in many instances the customers you’re going to in the city have trucks themselves and actually are good at walking you into their facility. Don’t be afraid to make the phone call

It kinda makes sense. Let me 'splain:
New York is a big state, and the bridge height marking rules are state-wide. In places like Buffalo through the "southtowns" as well as up I-81 towards Watertown, they can and DO get enough snow that it could (and sometimes does..) get packed to a foot thick. Unlikely to be more than that, so that's why NY marks them as such.
Occasionally you will also see a sign that has a higher marking with a sign that says "ACTUAL", but those are rare. There used to be such a sign on 5 & 20 in Canandaigua, but when the bypass was built some 30 years ago, I think they removed those signs. Also, although the railroad underpass on Genesee st. in Buffalo is marked something like 13'0", you can be sure that it's about 14'0" at the underpass, but with the quick rise just past the underpass, if you drive a trailer with the tandems slid all the way back, you WILL shear off about 8' of rivets on your roof panel.....
