Hello everyone, My name is Jason. I will be starting with in central next monday (6-21-10). I am wondering if this will be a good idea. I just have a few concernes with this. I am going to to utah faclity or terminal is a good place or not. When I get done with school, how fast will the get me out with a trainer. Is there miles for me to work, when I am done with this training phase or not. Is this lease program good and does it work, will I get my miles there as well. Also is the classroom and yard trainers easy to work with.
O.K here we go. Is this a good idea

You may want to check the Central Refrigerated truck stop thread on the favorite company's thread.
Answers to any question you could ever have are in there somewhere.
Utah is the main terminal. And the nicest one.
If trainers are available it will be fast, otherwise it may be a few days. At least last I heard.
You will get miles once you learn how to run smart. They will test some and start out slow, but freight is picking up. So you should get ok miles.
The lease is a loosing deal. Do not do it.
Do 6 months, then see if you can get on a dedicated acct. Like Kraft. They should hire in your area for it. I-68 is an easy route to 70 for east and west and 79 is a good way north, so getting home should not be an issue. -
Hey ChromeDome Thank you for the advice. the way my recuriter talked I had no choice but to take to lease option. I think I am ready for the school. I am glad the miles are picking up as well. Also I live directly off of I-68 exit 1, so I have easy axcess to I-79 as well. I am also glad that getting home should not be an issue.

You always have a choice. They have not become a full 100% lease company yet, and really cannot since they train.
I would not do it. I tell people that all the time on here though and have been telling them not to lease for several years now. But some still do it anyway. -
Lease works for me, you gotta get good fuel ecnomy though. If you have to drive 65mph everywhere then you will be spending most of your profit on fuel.
