National average right now is .16 percent. If the broker doesn't pay at least that, I would raise the rate to equal what the FSC would to be to get it back.

Took a customer load 502 miles deadhead was 62miles paid 1100. Gross. 171. Fsc.

Then i deadheaded 68mi for another customer load paid 850gross on 428mi

Took a customer load paid 1500 gross 120 fsc. 75.00 xstop pay. Plus 300 .00 next day delivery .

Then i was offered a load paid 650.00 gross with 130.00 fsc . 75.00 xstopon 432mi no thanks . load comes out to 1.10mi after tolls . So they offered me a worse load sit for another day pick up a load pays 650 gross with no fsc. Thats what happens when you turn down a load that doesnt pay . They offer you worse .

    2nd load pays 510mi at 650gross or 455.00 at 70% all in .89mi.

Just my O but none of those rates look very appealing under any market conditions. Are those dirt cheap ones customer loads or brokered? That's why you can never allow someone else to control your business. It's one thing if they're consistently loading your truck up with good, predictable and steady direct freight. Otherwise you need to be taking that by the horns and booking the loads yourself. I remember a teenage chick right out of high school knew nothing about trucking booking better loads than those last ones and that's a real stretch to say hers were good loads. It was an early lesson that no-one cares more about your truck and the rates it gets than YOU. If that's the best they can do you should deadhead to a better area. They can put those customer loads on their own trucks or broker them out to dummies. If they're brokered loads the game plan all along should have been to immediately deadhead to a better area.

No there customer loads. Customers have priority before we can book our own. Usually they try to beat us to the brooker by booking a load before we are empty. Then if you refuse the booked load their attitude is were tired of you refusing loads We got other trucks to find loads for your own your own .
My biggest issue is they wont accept my app for DAT since im using their MC. So i find loads off 123 or Truck Path. Free load apps. Then i gotta book a load to Ohio preferably or toward a customer. Thats the rule . They like to us the excuse we have customers in your area that need serviced pull it or do without and by the way it picks up in New Jersey finals in Harmony Pa with xtra stop in Pittsburgh for 455.00 to truck and tolls are 136.00 on 420mi DH included rough estimate that pays .77mi my op cost approx 1.10mi . But they dont care what op cost are we need load pulled. It sucks got myself in a bind working here. Some days are awesome others garbage and no way out. I sat for a day to final this load i empty out at 8am then sit till 9pm to pull a load for .77mi thats insane.

Ok that's about what I figured. They need company trucks with W2 employees to service their customers instead dictating to and retaliating against contractors. I'd pull their signs off my truck and ditch them as soon as I had another place to go all lined up.

This is the exact scenario that pushed me to apply for my own MC. It may be an uphill battle, but, the freedom will probably be worth it.
