I've been a company driver my entire career and I'm ready to step into the land of O/O...any owners feel like shedding some light on what I can expect to gross hauling fuel? I've currently been hauling gas for 4yrs now.

I haul fuel and know a few o/o drivers hauling fuel. The one I know fairly well makes a decent living and takes home about $1800 to $2000 per week working what amounts to part-time. He does one or two trips per day, all instate. Maximum mileage he does is about 150 miles (one way) per day. Sorry, that's about all the information I have. I too am interested in perhaps moving into this aspect of the o/o fuel hauling in the future but not anytime soon. Trying to learn all facets, nuances and intricacies of the fuel hauling industries.

Thanx for the response that actually has to do with the topic ! Some people just abuse the site when others look for real information. But I spoke with an O/O about an hr ago whole waiting in line at the rack and he is averaging gross 3300-4200 - after expenses are ducted he says normally 2500 - 2800 take home - same deal tho as far as miles 150 air mile radius - but he said he does 3-5 loads a day - 5 day work week and if he works a 6th day it's normally closer to 4800-5000k gross for the week. So there is money to be made in the fuel hauling field. He is doin the same thing I am but for a lot more money ! Sounds right up my alley !

I was previously a sales rep for a small fuel transport (50 trucks). My goal was for each truck to gross 1k in a single shift. Normally, it was 800-1k. This is to the company. If someone is running own authority, I can see 5k weekly. Leasing on, it would be very tough.

The main thing in fuel is the same as all business, a connection! I'm on the east coast. Volume stations such as Costco, Murphy, etc don't pay squat.
