So after crawling all over this site and many others and searching Google like crazy im still at a dead end so thought I'd just post and ask. What are good reefer companies to take a truck to? I'm currently a local LTL driver in the city and well after several years I'm ready to go back to owning my own truck!! I did it for almost 10 years pulling a skateboard until the crash of 08 and finally fell in 2010 and im ready to go back at it again!! Local politics beating your body to death and well freight companies just ain't what they used to be pensions, longevity and cameras following you everywhere!! So im just looking for a nitch!! I've been pounding the internet and reading for months and I'm thinking reefer is where I'm wanting to go. I know grocery warehouses and long waits and Yada Yada but after doing dry and flat it seems to be generally consistent freight and decent pay but where are the companies that take o/o and don't have age restrictions on trucks? I'm not talking pre-eld but DEFINITELY pre-emission trucks!! Anybody have any info to set me in a decent direction? I'm live near mobile Alabama and from the north so not scared of winter and the northern states. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
O/O reefer companies??

I'm an o/o with F2F transport. I pull my own reefer trailer and make good money over the road with it. I do have a 2020 truck with this company, but the company does not require trucks to be a certain age. Some drivers are running 90s trucks and older. They pay weekly and you deal with brokers on your own. 80% of the revenue you book goes to the driver with no restrictions on the truck. It's probably rhe closest company to running your own truck without having your own authority.
City-Boy Thanks this. -
Where are you located?
I did dump and equipment for a long time, and no matter what way I did the math trying to set this truck up for it, I couldn’t justify it to make the same money doing double the miles at almost 3x the weightCity-Boy Thanks this. -
I did reply but for some reason it's not showing up so my apologies if it doubles up. I'm in south Alabama 30 mins from mobile,AL I see reefers running like crazy across 10 so obviously things are moving around here! I did that flats for so long I'm not sure it's a direction I'm wanting to go!! I've got years and years of experience in it starting in Michigan B-trains then to spreads and multi axle then to cross country flats but I've seen some of the climate control rates and have to think it would be a good move for a long term thing. That being said I'd hate to get myself into a forced dispatch environment I'd like to have my own say so in my running habits and home time
