You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I use my personal experiences to convey potential pitfalls to other fellow drivers. I do not believe I "put anyone down" in any of my posts. I believe in trying to help others make informed decisions. Having trained dozens of new drivers over the years I believe I have a wealth of knowledge and insight and am willing to share this with others, kind of a benevolent mentor.

Considering that over 925 companies have gone out of business since the start of this year I consider myself in good company. Their failure (and mine) does not define us.

My mistake was not researching the step to lease operator and all the tax ramifications that go with it. In that I was naive and readily admit it.

Remember a "wise man" is capable of learning from anothers mistakes if he has the ability to listen AND comprehend what is being discussed.

I wonder if you think you are better than all those other o/o's, l/o's, i/c's, and fleet owners that have gone out of business?

777 that seems to be the first time I have seen that you have stated what mistakes you made that have given you your determination against OO. That is helpful information. Most other posts of yours are simply a "DON"T DO IT! BE A COMPANY DRIVER!" without any reason for your opinion, which is why I posted my statment. By all means I am sure everyone with consideration of becoming an OO welcomes your story of why it did not work for you and what pitfalls a person should be aware of. I do not believe that I am better than others, however I do believe that I may be a better business-man than others. That is what is weeding out so many companies be it small trucking co. or OO. It is no differnt than what is happening to the houseing market, poor financial planning decisions.
