I'm ready to order my New Glider and had my mind set on a 60 Series 12.7 Detroit but now my neighbor is trying to get me to change my thinking to a N14 what would you be looking at for a engine? Just taking a second look. Thanks

Get what you are comfortable with. Engines are like fruit. Some people like oranges, others like apples. It is your business what you do. Dont worry about what your neighbor thinks. Is he the one running your business? If not he really has no say in it.
EZX1100 Thanks this. -
I know he's been in the business for over 20 years running mostly Pete's and KWs and seeing this will be my first two gliders he was just suggesting that I may have better luck with the N14 . Thanks for your response.

I have had experience with both. They are both great engines, so either way you are winning. The N14 has better pulling power, while the Detroit is no slouch the det. has a little better fuel mileage. Both are reliable, most i ever did on either were an injector and a turbo.

Thanks. I'm a firm believer in MP even if it's before time that's just me. If I may ask which one do u think has the better engine brake.
-
I'd be inclined to say N14 for the engine brake.
-
N14 is a solid motor. One of the best built and will go for years.
-
basically, both good engines, you cant go wrong with either one -
If I go with a N14 I would need to find a very good certified shop to rebuild it so I can get the Cummins warranty. Still think of what go to get. Basically going to stay on the South lanes for the most part using a Van. Thanks for the info.
