Elog has changed things a bit. If you negotiate you can get more money. Brokers are trained to find the cheap haulers. "The stupid companies." They use you to get rich. You truck gets used up like it belongs to them with you paying all the bills. Dont be stupid. Sometimes when your tires are turning you aint earning. Theres no reason you cant average $2.30 per mile minimum. I get more than that or i sit.

I'm banking every penny I can. Next yr I should be able pay my truck off 3yrs early. And only have 275000 miles on it That's the goal. Sooner I clear this debt better prepared ill be lf things get worse and still have a low mileage trk with no debt. Hopefully .

I am on a flatbed load, Dayton, OH to Boston, MA area. Load of stand up coils, all legal. $3500 on 800 mile. Picked up Wed, deliver friday. Loads out of the Boston area are not as good but easily over $2/mile to south or midwest. I am using InternetTruckstop for loadboard.
DSK333 and NoBigHurry Thank this. -
Before this, picked up a flatbed load, Salisbury, NC to Indianapolis, IN for $1800 on 550 miles. This is what broker are paying. I get 90% of ratesheet and my carrier gets 10%.
So how are the other O/O doing ? -
windsmith Thanks this.
