    true.....

Thats why I try not to look at the Net figure (Before Taxes) because its a Mystery what you REALLY made,The Numbers are always skewed

Heres What I Do......Every Week $500 goes into a high interest account.(Thats MY PAY for the week) Everything else goes into Business accouints.....Usually at the End of the Year..there is Leftover Money for myself

If You dont pay yourself Weekly.(I mean PAY yourself actual Profit For your Savings or What have Ya)....You Will Drive yourself Crazy Wondering Why You work so Hard and have Nothing to Show for it.

AND THATS THE HONEST TRUTH !!!!

Yes but you can only write off so much. I'd never want an audit to come bite me later on

I Know, And poor truckers Making $200k Per Year are scrutinized with Field Audits, new Regulations, IRS audits, Etc...... Over a measly 200k

    Although that report sounds crazy...
Much of that I believe to be skewed.........They Dont mention out of the Billions in Profit, How much of That money is Donated to non-for profit organizatrions,How Much of that nmoney is given too Research and development,

Kind of like Athletes and actors/musicians.......Most of their contracts stipulate Donating a percentage of theuire earnings to MANY charity Groups out there...........Of Course the General Public doesnt Know How Much..They public only sees the BIG Number they Make

I want to know how you all make it work with Swift, as O/O through the lease program. You can find all the "WAAA WAAA" stories all over the internet, but no success stories. I know it has to work or the lease purchase programs would of died out long ago, or if scams. government would of took them over. Been out here 2 years now, gonna take the lease plunge. Don't need sold on the idea, done talked my fool self into it. I want to know the "Tricks of the Trade". Who has a George Forman? Benefits of TA, Flying J, Loves, Hess-Wilco, Sapp Bro? Phone Apps? Going with the T680, even tho it is higher payments, I live in my truck as is, ecentually I'm renting an apartment. If there is a forum already set up for this, please let me know. Thanks in advance

You want to know the secret ... you have to know how to run a business.

You have to know basic accounting ... like in the OPs post of a take home of 36K ... if he understood accounting, he would have picked up on the accounting error built into the annual statement. The actual take home was at least 40K and probably more.

You need to know how to analyze expenditures and revenues, Then the make the appropriate adjustments to maximize your income. Don't get enamored with a fancy truck ... get one that will cost you as little as possible and still do the job.

For the record ... Last year I pulled a before tax net of $52K on $173K of revenue and I only spent $73k on fuel. And yes I pull for Swift.

I was averaging between $12,000-$14,000 a month to the truck. A good $25,000 gross. That to the truck is after fuel, cargo ins., OCC. ACC. Insurance, and trailer lease.
My liability/bobtail ins. of approximately $190 a month ($1140 every 6), home equity loan payment (which I used to buy my truck) of $650 a month, monthly maintenance of approximately $500 for normal oil, lube, filters every 10,000 miles (like 3 weeks) plus any other necessary repairs, truck washes every couple weeks, and other misc.expenses otherwise associated with trucking would come off that to the truck numbers but still did quite well.
I had to keep the wheels rolling but didn't break hos rules either typically staying out around 3 weeks chasing the money then going home for 4 or 5 days.
I was averaging around $1.80 a mile to the truck which is probably well above average but had some really good gigs in the 6 months I was leased on where I was. Ran PS4s for Best Buy for 3 weeks before Xmas doing over $5.00 a mile gross. Loads like that can bump that average up pretty good but typically did $2.00 to $3.00 gross. That's what the loads paid and I got 88% of the load.

I did just terminate the above lease and obviously not because of the $$$ but other issues which can be equally important in the overall success of sustainability of a trucking company. I am currently working on an arrangement I'm pretty excited about as well tho and if the numbers being put out there prove to be on the mark I will be operating under my own authority while running loads for a company that has tons of freight averaging $2.00-$2.50 a mile and pulling in 90% of the $$$ on the loads. I would have all the same expenses as the last gig basically paying everything and leasing to own a brand new trailer rather than just lease. If the bottom dollar is even close to the same, I found my home.
