I have gotten tired of fighting, reworking, redoing, etc, etc of my old accounting software.
Can anyone recommend a reliable, user friendly software that I can, at least somewhat, easily customize to a two truck operation where I can track loads, miles, etc that has the basic accounting stuff in it too?
I have tried several that are around & frankly I'm not happy with any of them...if they are specifically for an owner/operator I have found that if they are for a small operation it is for ONE truck only & if you have two, well then you have to use the "fleet" version, which is ALWAYS way more complex than I need.
I firmly believe in the "K.I.S.S" principle...keep it simple stupid! works for me...Why does everyone HAVE to make everything so ###### complicated???
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Keep in mind tho...I AM in Canada & some of our rules are a tad different, but mostly I know how to "fix" that little problem.
Thanks in advance!
O/O which accounting soft you use to track expences?

I always use an accounting program for the figures. As far as the miles, I assume for IFTA and what not, I use a spreadsheet.
I am sure there are some out there, but I am partial to the separate because I use the accounting for the business accounts I do which are not all truck related. -
First of all I have Windows Vista on my PC and it fighting with almost all accounting program. I tried Bookkeeper but it not adjusted for trucking business. I bought Quicken Home & Business 2010 but it do not start up in Vista. Now I'm ready to get advises :biggrin_25513

If you bank with Wells Fargo, they have a great online banking program that is free and organizes all of your expenses...Also there a free oline program called Mint that seems decent.

Note pad and folder to keep receipts goes alot cheaper. Organize the receipts by the month in a manilla envelope.
Otherwise if you must have something to keep track of expenses, try microsoft money. -
I do accounting for a living in addition to the trucking. I have never bought an accounting program for that. I use one that is quite effective for alot less.
Tax programs are a different story.
