12 years of experience being company driver and lease driver and have finally paid off my truck to the point now I can move on. I've been think heavily on Landstar due to the fact that I can book when I want and how I want and see how much it will pay before I move. However like an idiot I got a ticket in personal vehicle for doing 57 in a 40 (17 over)... missouri doesn't classify this as reckless however many companies hang on when I let them know of my ticket.

I've heard of other drivers getting their own authority and running freight thru brokers... (insurance looks to be for me 22k a year and would go down to 16k a year) I have not the slightest idea how to get ahold of brokers... how to look for them or even how to check ratings.

    Here is my question.
1.How would I get my own authority.
    2. Would my PSP effect my "carrier rating"
    3. Who would I book my loads thru as well as how to find them

I've seen some information on MAG and again wanted to know the process. Thank you for any and all input

Did you immediately hire an attorney and fight the ticket or is too late?

I have and did and won with an SIS which according to FMCSA is illegal so hopefully 180 days I'll be clean

I don't know what that means. Did they reduce the ticket to something else or you outright beat it?

Well I am confused ya'll must do things different in your State.

    You won but are guilty?

Anyway, start by filling in every blank here.

I am pretty sure your CSA is with your current carrier and and will stay with them?

If you go on your own you will then have your own CSA scores to deal with.

For your insurance rates, that ticket needs to be gone and out of site IMO. Like GONE and then any future tickets need to be fought before they ever hit your license.
