O/O with authority and brokers

1.How would I get my own authority?

Join OOIDA, Go to FMCSA website and start the registration process. It is pretty much self guided. If you run into a snag don’t just put in anything call OOIDA and ask for advice. They will help. They and a number of other companies will do it for you for a few, not worth it.

2. Would my PSP effect my "carrier rating"?

I had a hefty speeding ticket that dropped off a month after I got my authority. It never showed up on my score. I’m sure it did affect my insurance. Doesn’t mean your wouldn’t because of the 6 months.

3. Who would I book my loads thru as well as how to find them? Load board such as Truckstop or DAT.
If you do open deck I think Truckstop. Other stuff DAT although they both have similar load or the same depending on brokers.
