The boom happened because of economic and policy issues.
Many products were pre ordered and even over ordered because of anticipation of policy.
It just happened to occur in conjunction with the eld mandate. A perfect storm so to speak.
If the economy is strong, rates will be where they will be. I don't know when we will see those rates again, though.
But if there is some stimulus, like a giant infrastructure bill, or big trade deaI, I think rates will climb.
O/O with new authority: looking for freight companies that will accept my carrier packets ASAP.

I can normally tell about 5 to 6 months ahead of time. I called this downturn back in late September last year. Was calling 2017 upswing about Feb of 17 and had anticipated it since fall of 16.

I gotta ask. Why do so many shoot for 2 bucks a mile? If im making over 2 a mike leased to a carrier shouldn't a guy with his own authority be aiming higher to cover the extra costs and effort involved?

Monkey see monkey do.
$3.00 should be the new $2.00 and it was for a while but people can’t help themselves. Gotta drive the rates back into the toilet.Last edited: Apr 12, 2019
