O/O yearly gross income? / What will you clear after all your cost?

To many things left out to give you an good answer.Are you gonna pull a van,flat,tanker,etc as rates are different for each.Also are you getting your own authority or leasing on to a company?where you gonna run all 48?The rule of thumb is to try and keep at least half of your gross after all expenses.

 

Have you driven a semi truck Over the Road for a living before?

So there is that simple, universal idea for buying a truck and hauling goods for money.
ill conceived notion of living a road monk life to help the efficiency of it is popular too.

 

Trucking is not easy to make money as O/O because everyone on the road is willing to run just as hard. All you have to do is look at the rates per mile. Then figure out your cost per mile. See if you have any money left over. You get a low MPG you make less money. Some guys like the long hood trucks. Those are expensive to run. You might want a truck spec for MPG. It's very long list how to make money or lose money.

 

I do the same myself , no kids, no wife, no house, spend all my time in the truck , i leased on with a company back in november and let me tell u its a tougher game than u think . Working twice as hard and making about the same. Everybody thats running the spot market is struggling right now .

 

That's all right. I started as a road monk myself. After I got married, life became beautiful. You know...you need to have someone to go back to.
