Universal truck and trailer in New Brighton mn. If your truck isn't in show room condition don't bring it to them for a dot. They will be the pickiest company around and charge you a lot more when nothing is actually wrong. This shop is charging outrageous prices for labor and diagnoses even if you tell them what needs to be fixed. There all just part changers that know nothing. They put 3 wrong starters in my last truck and raped me $900 for diagnosing an abs problem. Plus several non dot problems and still wouldn't put a sticker on it.
I don't drive a junk truck. They mostly fix trucks for Arrow truck so there use to fixing everything.

First Truck Center Southside location Edmonton, have treated me very well in the 5 years of doing business, they've helped me buy new (used) trucks from different locations south of the border, parts and shop people I think are straight up individuals. I'm a small one man operation but I've got a couple of different trucks (configurations) all pre-emission stuff, they've always steered me away from the newer stuff.

Sapp Bros has always done shady inspections, making up problems to try and get a work order, counting on a driver not getting under there and taking a look at it their self. Every time I've had their "issues" double checked, they weren't there, even going back to the same Sapp Bros a week later. They've tried pulling this with cracked brake shoes, leaking wheel seals, bad pinion seals, all of which were actually fine, while missing things like leaking hub caps, worn brake shoes, and busted brake chambers during PM service inspections as well as DOT annual inspections.

Beaver Volvo in Winnipeg are scummy. Have many stories where they would charges extra for work they "did" or parts they "changes". The latest one needed to change the radiator and some hosing. Radiator was replaced fine but when I checked for leaks found that the hosing wasn't replaced. When asked at the service desk, one of the guys had a dumbfounded look on his face and said: "It can't be". So I had to have to show him personally. After that had to leave the truck for another day because "we are busy today".
It's one of the few. That's why I am never buying a Volvo, since it's the only dealership in the city. -
