I know what you mean! I don't mind getting a good job for a fair charge = just don't like being stole from or screwed. Actually had a good experience in Atlanta. The YANCEY Truck Center off of Moreland Ave is running a special, I paid for an overhead and CAT paid for my PM service. They didn't grease chassis but changed oil using CAT oil and CAT oil filters / fuel filters. They also had a reduced charge on the overhead. $250.00 got my C15s overhead ran, new oil, new filters, and the people there printed out my ECM information and inspected my engine, and acted like they actually appreciated my business. Only hitch, they would not do the same for my Detroit, just my CAT. Oh well, maybe Detroit will run a special.

Broke down a CAT powered KW in Truth or Consequences NM (no joke!), fan fell off motor. Had to be towed to Rush Peterbilt in Las Cruces, NM, which was the nearest dealer that did major repairs. 100 mile tow. Im a company driver so it doesnt really bother me much, but it did piss me off when i looked at the bill

They charged like $200 to reconnect the driveshaft and tow the truck into the shop to inspect it and see that the fan was missing. Then tow it back outside until they could get parts. That couldve been done OUTSIDE. FYI, driveshaft was disconnected for $50 by the tow truck and its a 15 minute job. Then they charged another $200 to tow it back into the shop for the repair. come ON.

The rest of the $5000 bill wasnt so bad (if you look at that motor, you have to pull the hood, radiator, radiator shroud, etc etc off to get the fan out), except it seemed pretty shady that they charged us a $400 core charge on the fan clutch assembly, because it was bad. I thought thats what a core was? Infact, it was the clutch going bad that caused all of the damage. Werner arranged to have it shipped back to them. I think they knew they were getting screwed...

A bit of advice!!!!! If you own a Cat do NOT break down in Kansas City Mo.!!!!! I siezed an injector in my 3406E in Belton, MO. Called Dean Machinery, sfter talking to nearly every phone number theu have was sent back to Kristine in parts, the first one that I talked to. I had the serial number, even the part number of the injector that I needed. SHe layed her hands on 5 of them on the shelf. PROBLEM!!! They have NO ONE who goes down US 71 on their way home, NO courier service in Kansas City, all I gor was a SORRY!!!!!. Next call.... Rush KW, we don't do road service, call a tow truck. Yea right grossing 130,000 just what I need is a tow truck! Next call, Steve's Road Maintenance, Yep I can get you an injector, be a "little bit" 'til I can get to ya. 5 hours later, I had the offending injector laying on the right steer tire. $100.42 later I actually got to Peculiar, MO just ahead of sundown. What a day!!!!!!!! Like I said, there is NO support for a OTR truck in that area!!!!!!!
