Truck Enterprise, in Hagerstown, MD
Got automatic transmission problem on monday morning, called in and asked for road service. Mat, from service told me to bring a truck to them, because of rain nobody will go out to look on it, so called towing and get towed in around noon.
Driver signed in and they told him to wait. He was waiting till midnight, and they told him go away from the property, we are closing. Next day - no one looked at the truck. I was calling every 4 hours and finally at 10 PM they got to it. 10-30 Mat from service dept called me with quote 1360$ to replace Shifter Pad. Promised to fix it by 4 pm next day. So, next day - nothing done. Promised next day. Finally friday at 9 PM they fixed it. And final price was $1980. After I sked for explanation , they told they need to a lot of wiring work. OK . When got truck back, and I saw "lot of wiring work" it was 1 wire cleaned and re-insulated.
very expensive 600$ re insulation and 30 minutes job took them 5 days. All this time truck was just parked , driver watched them working maybe 20 minutes for diagnostics and hour and half doing a job.
Failed complain with VOLVO, promised to get info on a claim by email.

JL TRUCK REPAIR EXIT 22 I-68 in MD AVOID!!!! Lost four days in this shop one too them stopping work altogether based on info the secretary pass alone was never confirmed. Did not say any thing to me still I call at the end of day to get a ride do pick up truck...
you guess how the rest of that call went, own then proceed to tell me what I said in a phone conversation he was not in on. Coast me my load for the day out and the next cause it's way more importan to stand around and talk to friend than get a already heald up costumer on the road.

I guess question #2 is did you even look at the motor after the repair job 3 weeks ago? I'm not real familiar with Marmons, but for the most part, you can get a pretty good visual on a starter with the hood up.
I suppose the new solenoid could make it appear like a new starter, but the rest of that thing seems pretty beat up and crappy looking. Usually remans have new studs and the id plate is freshly riveted. -
WOW, that's really bad!

I took a peek and I thought I was new...I got the solenoid back and called them up told them what I thought of this crap and said they could roll the repair bill up and smoke it! I haven't heard #### since...just a F.YI. Should you ever be in Grand Rapids and have them work on your stuff...
thejackal Thanks this. -
Saw all the bad posts on shops, (believe me I know), so I thought I would post about an excellent shop. For any major repair such as OH, turbo, etc. Pittsburg Power is excellent. Been there 3 times for work and it's been done right the 1st time every time. also in a timely manner. If they say 1 day they mean it. These people are experts in diesel performance, and can answer any questions you may have. Even Bruce the owner is available to answer questions.
