Their trucks on the sales lot are on the high side, but the shop in Bloomington, IL is pretty decent. The Larson Group which has stores in IL-MO-AR area have always been good when I have been there to ask questions/pick up parts.

cummins atlantic,I-95 in richmond.i rolled in with my 05 int.9400i,smoking/knocking.it took fri, mon, tues.for them to diagnose #4 piston had a hole through it,a bad injector & head cracked.it pumped oil through out, including the turbo.[was only 1.5 yrs old].the repair est.was for 1-cylinder kit,1-injector,1-gasket kit,new head, rods & main bearings....13,300.00.charging me w/over 52 hrs labor. I called the shop in indiana[power service],gave them the list & situation.they said it would be 13,000.00 to completely inframe w/new head, out the door.plus the injector of course.the repair only would be 8000.00. so..W.T.F.?? then the crooks @ cummins decided my truck should not run with the big dogs any longer.they flashed over my e.c.m. killing the P.D.I. program that i loved so much. you know what that means...drag-n-fly again.they say their hands are tied.epa would fine them for leaving it in there.so why didnt they re-install the egr crap that i ripped out? they are full of crap!i think they get off stickin it to the o/o.it gets better....my a/c was just fixed 2 weeks prior to all this.it worked when it went in,not when it came out.by the way,it was supposed to take 4 business days to fix it...they took 11 business days!lost the load i was under.i should have had it towed to indy from n.c..i would have saved around 3,000.00 and still delivered the load.WHAT EVER YOU DO,DONT HAVE THESE CROOKS WORK ON YOUR TRUCK!!!!!

i had P.D.I. do my ecm 2 years ago.i love it.would do it again. i think that are way over priced for a 1hr bench operation.but they do have a monoply on this stuff.when you fly by every one w/a big motor climbin a hill, maintaining 65mph....you really appreciate that program.a 500hp isx factory is like driving a 73 pinto, the same truck w/p.d.i......a super high performance v-8.priceless....

I know they are expensive but it's not all "just because they can". And they do have competition that is equally pricey. You understand there is a lot of time (money) spent programming and dynoing that has to be done over and over again to get a tune just right? An hour to load a tune in your truck,no telling how many man hours and dyns it had behind the program.

Call the police - we are being ROBBED!
Some truckers are ruining it for the others. Instead of getting a written quote and looking it over they are giving the Service Facilities a wave of the hand and the old "go ahead and fix it." Get a written quote FIRST!

They aren't fooling this trucker's WIFE! I handled our repair this past week at our local Freightliner Facility that was trying to over-charge us. We went in for a read out of the "Engine Service Fault Code" for $130 and were told the "Flash Code of 83" was due to a faulty ERG Valve and that it would need to be replaced. While waiting on a quote (which took 14 hours) I called 3 other Freighltiner facilities for pricing. The quote came thru from our LOCAL facility, with 5 or 6 other recommended services, and was $200 higher in the EGR Valve with 6.5 hours of labor instead of 4 hours at three other facilities. I told them that the prices were rediculous and that we would be happy to drive on down the road to another facility since the truck was still running good so they said they would look over the quote and check the pricing again. The SECOND quote was now about $600 less than the first. I questioned the SECOND nad was now sent a THIRD quote with another $400 less. We were now down $1000 form the original quote. They also charge an additional $92 to test drive the vehicle after the repairs are completed. All said and done we finally agreed on the final price of $2350 which included a few of the reommended repairs. The following morning, when the truck was supposed to have been in the bay the night before to begin the repair, it was still sitting in the lot - hadn't been touched. They got the truck in right away to begin service and I was told it would be ready at 5 that afternoon. I called at 4 and was told that they were running late and I told them we would pick it up the following day. The next morning at 10 am it is sitting in the bay - unattended and still in pieces. They hadn't gotten a chance to start on it but would right away, with one problem. One of the studs on the EGR COOLER (which was not the part to be replaced) broke off and WE were now required to but a new one for $1300 and have it put on. They said that the customer is responsible for ANY parts that broke during a repair. NOT SO FAST! I was told (the wife) that if one of the studs were to break off during the repaired to purchase the additional stud(s) for $16 each. Now another day gone by, truck is finally done with a new total of $4300 instead of the agreed upon price of $2300. The wife goes out to check the Coolant which was drained during the process and the Reservoir is now full of WATER! They also hadn't road tested the vehicle, which was on the bill for a charge of $92. Had I not been watching them and following up on their repairs we could have been sitting along side the road. They finally road-tested before I would sign the Credit Card slip an OIL LINE was not tightened and it was leaking oil - not to mention the COOLANT, which had all been flushed 2 months before, was not coming to specs and we HAD to purchase an additive - just so that we could bring the PH level up and get the truck out of there. I have DISPUTED THE CHARGE, CONTACTED CORPORATE HEADQUATERS, working on contact THE OWNER OF THE FRANCHISE and will not give up until satisfied with the final $ charge.

    SERIOUS trucker's wife.

Been to Indy Peterbilt twice in the last two years both times they dropped what they were doing to get me going in less than 2 hrs. They are very proud of their shop time though.
