They violate the federal truth in leasing laws in Title 49 376 CFR. They hold your paycheck 18 days before you get it . They hold back 2 weeks on every pay period ( 18 days total before you get paid ). They over charge on items that are itemized on your contract. The contract has one price and they actually charge more then what is on the leasing contract.
Oakley is breaking Arkansas State Law section 11-3-103 of the Arkansas State Dept of Labor laws and Regulations regarding any Company in the State of Arkansas that requires a physical or drug screen can not charge the employee. According to the State that includes INDEPENDANT CONTRACTORS. I had a 3 week old physical and they said I had to do another and they charged me $ 40 for it and $ 39.50 for the drug screen. Wouldnt mind paying it if it wasnt the law saying I can not be billed for it. They charged $ 40 for a DOT inspection on your truck then right after they say MHC Kenworth in Little Rock will give a free DOT to Oakley drivers????? VERY GREEDY PEOPLE who will charge you for every thing and not want to pay you for your earnings on a timely manner. BEWARE of OAKLEY

well if they do violate leasing laws, and your signed contract states 1 amount and your pay stub says otherwise, then I would be contacting an attorney and or ooida, they love those truth in leasing cases. good luck.

Yes, sorry for not stating Bruce Oakley. lol I called OOIDA and the Feds, no luck. OOIDA did not care. I had proof of the regulations being violated and everyone told me to hire an attorney,in which I actually called one in N. Little Rock. I forwarded all paperwork to them along with copies of the Truth in Leasing violations. The attorney I called happened to be Oakley's attorney . lol Seriously !!! I received all the money owed to me about a week later. I lucked out big calling their attorney's office by accident. Oh well , water under the bridge, I'm at Mercer now loving life. And still a part time Deputy !! Take care and be safe

Deputy881 you are so full of ####. I was leased on their for nine months even though I did not agree with some of their policy's it is in writing they don't hide anything. Right their in black and white, they held one week and then pay every week after that, most all company's do this. Physical and drug screen is in print stating you need a new one and you pay for it. You have a choice run under their tag and they pay for it or run under your own base plate. If you have work done in their shop you are told what it will cost because it is all written done in a work order and you have a copy.

You say Arkansas state law says they cannot charge an employee for drug testing or physical well Einstein you or any contractor are not an employee. What has happen Einstein here leased on and didn't read anything, I bet you didn't even take the time to read the leasing contract you just signed it because you was ready to hit the road. I would bet money your attorney story is BS and you waited 45 days like the rest of us to get your ending settlement after you quit. These company's don't spend thousands and thousands of dollars to attorneys to draw up some lease that is illegal.

I was leased to Oakley for nine months and enjoyed most of it and they had the freight and miles never had to lay over because of slow or no freight. I liked working for a 100% owner operator company with one of the best safety records in the industry but I don't like to be treated as a company driver with a truck payment.

I just hope you read your lease agreement at Mercer and understand their policy's, they have charges to.

I was hoping you'd chime in on this.

I do remember hearing about that law in AR about companies having to pay for drug screen and physical, but never heard the outcome of it.
