Ok, I recently got my CDL and it states no convictions or traffic tickets. On my regular license I had some tickets. I'm wondering does your CDL overpower anything that was on your regular license before you turned it into a CDL? I've had my license for going on three months and it still is clean. I'm asking because I would hate to go to a company and it shows up months later. I have a Alabama CDL. My regular license number and my CDL number is the same. Thanks in advance for any info on this.:biggrin_25511:

Your record is now connected to your CDL, no clean slates with a new class of license...Pull a copy of your DMV record and you'll see and since you'll need to send any company you apply to a copy, better to know now so you can fill out app(s) correctly...

I already let the company check my MVR and it states no accident convictions or traffic accidents. Do I need the issue date and expiration date of my regular DL? They are the same number and I pulled my MVR and it only shows my CDL information. When I received my CDL permit, that state took my old regular DL.

Maybe this is a state specific issue, I don't know, but I believe you only have one driving record regardless of class of license...What state are you in, maybe others can chime in...

    >>>>that state took my old regular DL.

You only get to hold one license...

How long will this take? Its been almost two months since my license was switched to Alabama. I would think if it was to go on there, it should be on there already.

order your MVR it'll be on there, and the DMV should have been able to tell you. I called the VT DMV years after i moved and they gave me all my info lic # and dates, all i had to do was tell them my name
