Is Oct the month where decent rates go to die? With the price of diesel going up, I've been noticing not so great rates. I saw this last year too. Is October the slow month? Thanks fellas.

Ad October to the other 11 months of #### rates. Year after year rolling lower. I laughed when my boss said he hopes rates will move higher in December when new log rule enforcement goes in effect. I don't think he understands the pay cut coming with running "legal" I don't understand how guys running eld now say their pay is about the same. I have never in my life sat for a restart or been off duty 10 hours. Never been cited for log violation.

Same here, the company is hoping the rates go up in December... LOL! I've been doing this too long and know better. ;-)

It ALL depends on what you run, length of trip, number of drops etc. My guys are always over 3500 miles per week, all ON E-logs.

Cool, a long week for me is 1500 miles, IFTA miles, and if I cannot stop the clock like we used to be able to do when we ran 8/10, I don't know what is going to happen with us local/regional drivers that rarely hit 50 hours a week. There is more to trucking than OTR. But, what the hell do I know? Right? Poor business model I guess.

I think it will hit the short haul and auction guys the hardest, but then again, if everybody was logging as they did it then there shouldn't be an real change, right? Not looking to start an argument, just asking.

I'm certainly not knocking anyone or trying to start an argument either. I don't particularly like elogs..but I've been on them for 4 years in car haul. I myself work to live not live to work. I have done the "run 20 hours sleep 5 and get up and do it over". I'm at a point where I don't really want to work that hard. I still make my $100k and usually have 10 to 12 hours left on my 70 and as far as sitting 34...if I can't be home for 48 then I'll go find something else to do for a living! If you're working for someone and can't do it legal and still make 2k a week then maybe you should look around and compare reconciliation sheets with guys from other companies. Again not trying to start crap just saying....
