Odometer stopped working on 98' FLD120

    Just some friendly advice to keep you from starting another thread. There are some tiny dip switches on the back of the speedo head. Be sure not to bump yours upon removal. Set the new ones exactly like your old one.

    my first truck in 96 was a 93 fld odometer said like 95000 it was replaced but was told by the company truck had less then 500000 lol

    It's good information to know DOT isn't looking for that but yeah I'm going to get it fixed like you said for my own convenience

    Okay.. I saw those little white switches or gears at the bottom...so you're saying those can be manually turned to move the miles from "0" up to about "450,000" on the new one?? Because the parts guy told me I wasn't able to do that...

    I can't speak for all of them, but on every one i have replaced you could use an electric screw driver to spin it over till it hit the right reading. Could also do it by hand if you aren't busy for the next week.

    No the switches make it read the ppm (pulse per mile) correctly. If they are not set then the new speedo won't register the correct mph or distance

    I'm still not 100% sure I know what you're talking about but when I get it swapped I'll mention what you said and make sure it gets done right...
