I have replaced many bearings in engines that were as they came from the factory. Many were Clevite, some were fm and others were TRW. I use a lot of Clevite.

@BoxCarKidd. Thankyou. I forgot about Federal-Mogal. Another great OEM supplier at one time. Even Pontiac back in the 60’s sourced them.

Well I know a shop that for every rebuild they use FP diesel brain parts. FP diesel is Federal-Mogul.

They have been in business I'm sure since the seventies and rebuild engines probably everyday, so I would imagine those parts are probably okay.

I have not had any experience with Interstate McBee. I don't think that they are a Chinese company or anything like that but I don't know what their quality of Parts really are. My guess is that they're probably okay.

PAI is probably also okay. The only thing that's on my engine now that is from them is the accessory drive.

Liners Rings bearings that type of thing I would go with genuine Cummins. For me second choice would be FP diesel.

Accessory drives, water pumps that type of thing Pai is probably okay.

I will say that I had a complete gasket set that came from FP diesel.

At another point I had another complete gasket set that came from Cummins and there was definitely a difference in the gaskets.

It wasn't every gasket but many of them you could just see they were a better material they were made better especially the pan gasket.

The pan gasket was super heavy duty, way more than the other one.

I would only buy genuine Cummins head gaskets also.

You probably can get good results with aftermarket kits, but if it's something that I have to do a lot of work to take apart or it is critical for the engine, I'd rather put the best that I can in there.

I used a Federal Mogul Kit on my Detroit. It’s a good kit. Mahle now owns Clevite.

    SmallPackage Thanks this.

I have used some McBee rebuild parts on some dinosaur diesel engines. They had the parts when others did not. Have no problem with parts from companies that supply OEM parts but I was not familiar McBee. We had to go and they had the parts. Never had a problem with them.
Everything PAI and Maxiforce has been most impressive.

    SmallPackage and Rideandrepair Thank this.
